The ancient Chinese practice of Tai Chi appears to be good for you in just about every way. Tai Chi is one branch of Qigong, a series of exercises that harness qi (“chee”) or life force energy. Tai Chi is a 2000 year old, non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle physical movements for exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring your body is in slow and constant motion. It is sometimes described as “meditation in motion”. Tai Chi has many different styles. Each style has it’s own subtle variations and purposes. The Tai Chi classes we offer at Synergy are the only Tai Chi movement sequences approved by the Arthritis Foundation.
